Again when I saw this photo it was irresistible.  Even though I hadn't done any birds/feathers before and was just beginning to work with colored pencil  I had to do it, the lighting was so spectacular.    Beak and eye went in so well, but almost came to tears trying to get the fine feathers around the beak.  Ended up using a combination of mostly pencil with a little pastel to lighten them up to make them appear softer.
